| Green Iguanas |
After my great holiday in the Galapagos it was time for me to start working again. There are many pros to travelling for work. The most important of these is that you are looked after by local people. This is great, as they know where they are going and normally ( no - always) look after you very nicely.
After landing in Guayaquil after the flight from the Galapagos, I was met by the local representative from the company (Basicpharm Ecuador) and the first order of the day was lunch. We went to a great local seafood restaurant for a great meal. Thereafter I was dropped off in my hotel for a bit of a rest.
The next day would be a busy day with 2 presentations to various clients.
Between the presentations, they took me to the Park of Iguanas. This was a real surprise. Right in the middle of the city is a typical city park, but this was not like any other typical park.

Once through the gate of the park, there were many beautiful green iguanas. There was nothing that I could see which prevented them from leaving the small park. They would have easily been able to get through the fence around the park. People come to park and feed the iguanas. They also climb into the trees, I guess to settle down for the night. Quite an amazing site.

After visiting the Iguana, we went on the large Ferris wheel. I guess it is the Guayaquil Eye, as all of the other wheels seem to be called eyes - like the London eye! Beautiful views over the river and the icon hill with mutli coloured houses and light house which is the main tourist point in Guayaquil.

| Eating crabs in a local eating place |
The final outing in Guayaquil was to a local (very local) eating place for crabs. This was the type of place that you would not normally go into as a tourist, but when you are with local people, you get to see interesting places and go to out-of-the way places to eat. The crabs were amazing. A mountain of crabs and you were supplied with a very well used hammer. The only way to get the delitious crab meat out of the shell is to bash them with the small hammer. A most enjoyable evening out. Unfortunately, there was a serious "revenge of the crabs" attack later in the night and I was as sick as a dog. I must have hit the jackpot and got the "bad" crab. None of the other people had any negative effects from the crabs, so there was probably just one that was not good. I did, after all have four of them!

The end of a great, but very short stay in Guayaquil.
